How to tip in crypto without losing the tip to fees
A tip is small by definition: a dollar for a useful answer, a few cents for a good meme. That is exactly the size most blockchains handle worst.
Why small tips break
- Fees. A Bitcoin transfer costs ≈$0.12 whatever the amount; on Ethereum, gas can exceed a $1 tip.
- Minimums. Bitcoin refuses amounts under its dust limit; a new XRP wallet needs a 1 XRP reserve before it can receive anything.
- Waiting. A tip that takes an hour to confirm is not much of a moment.
Options that work
